For years I was held hostage completely controlled by hopelessness in my mind, my body and my soul. Hopelessness invaded my thoughts daily. Sleep was my best friend because when I was sleeping I was oblivious to how desolate the life I was leading really was. Who was my tormentor and capture? Satan. What was his weapon? Ignorance.
If you claim to be Christian and have never read the the word of God then you may be in the same mindset as I was. When asked “What does being a Christian mean?” my answer was “I believe in Jesus, he died for my sins so I can go to heaven, he was raised from the dead on the 3rd day and sits at the right hand of the father”. Right? I was not wrong in my thinking (thanks to the Apostle Creed which I had to learn in CCD) but, there is SO MUCH MORE!!
Why do you think Satan worked so hard to get religion and Bible education out of the public schools? To build a population of ignorance i.e lack of knowledge. Bible illiteracy is at an all time high. Satan’s greatest weapon is our own ignorance. This is what he uses to bind us in bondage to fear, anxiety, depression, poverty, sickness and disease. So many Christians are walking around living half a life, some not even half but merely existing. The fascinating piece of this sentence is “Christian”. Why? Most of us do know what authority a Christian has through Jesus and because of this we give Satan the power to call the shots in our lives.
