How to get on God’s path
My goal is to follow Jesus. This is what the New Testament encourages us to do. He is our shepherd in which he leads us safely. Our Lord has paths for us that we can not see.
There was a time when I thought everything in my life as going to disintegrate. I was extremely sick, requiring me to be in and out of the hospital. When I was out of the hospital I was almost not functional. At the same time of this health crisis my husband says he wants a divorce. I lost my job and my daughter was believing I was the enemy. If there was a path during this time I could not see it. I did not know any scriptures and I had never read the Bible. I was a Christian in the sense that I knew Jesus came to save me and that I was going to heaven, but that was it. This time of my life was very dark and all I could do was just keep stepping forward.
Our God is the God of great wonders. I often think about how many times that God had made paths for me in my life that I could not see and I did not walk them.
The paths from God tend to be revealed once you step down it.
The water did not part until the people of Israel stepped into the water. God spoke to Moses and Moses shared God’s command to the people. God provided the path through the water but they could not see it.
Ways God Communicates with me
Written Word
Logos, the Bible. Jesus is the bread of life and God provides me with fresh spiritual food to eat everyday. We need to feed our spirit that is what helps build faith.
Living Word
RHEMA, the Living word that resides in my Spirit. A specific message from the Holy Spirit. He has provided me with a word for a specific time in my life and for specific circumstances. The written and living word working together.
Through People
God has used ministers on You Tube, as well as friends and family to convey messages and confirm actions to me. He uses them to speak wisdom and knowledge.
Things I do to find God’s path
Prayer is my one on one communication with God. This is my planning sessions, my worship time, my time to lay everything on him. My time with the Lord.
Read the word every day. There are three [3] ways I read the Bible.
- Devotional Reading
- Bible Study
- Leisure Reading
I spend time in God’s word everyday. He reveals to me things I need answers to in the scriptures.
Listen after I pray or while I am reading scripture I try to listen and quiet my mind. I listen for the inner witness. This is not easy for me as I have monkey brain. My thoughts jump from one to another.
What I do when I am not sure
God creates paths that we do not see. By trusting him, being obedient on how and where he wants us to move makes it easier for him to guide us to the edge of the path. Sometimes the path God has for us does not look like a path at all. It can look like road blocks and barries and mountains to climb. It is only when we step forward on the right path that our way is revealed.
“The only thing I knew deep down in my spirit was that God had me.”
